SongScope.com Offers Industry Exposure to Songwriters Worldwide

Despite the huge growth of the internet, it has always been difficult for songwriters and independent musicians to get themselves heard by industry professionals. SongScope.com offers a service that will change all that.

SongScope.com (http://www.songscope.com), officially launched in January 2000, was created by industry professionals in need of fresh, new material that was often difficult to find. Until only recently, the majority of songwriters had only been able to "shop" their songs by virtue of limited trips to LA, New York or Nashville. Listing their songs with SongScope.com means that those songs are automatically considered "solicited material" by the music industry, eliminating the need for travel or time consuming scheduling. This leaves songwriters with more time to do what they do best – write songs.

"To some degree, you really have to be very accessible to the music industry in order to get cuts." said Jesse Deese, songwriter and CEO of SongScope.com, "Being in the right place at the right time is a daily commitment. Knowing what song to shop to what producer for what artist is a full-time job. SongScope.com makes it possible for writers to "pitch" material from anywhere in the world."

The SongScope.com system also enables the producers and industry people looking for material, an internet and software-based  system to listen to specific material for their specific needs.  SongScope.com is a management system for them to store and retrieve material that saves them time and increases the writers' odds of getting the right song to the right person. If a songwriter's material is close but not perfect for one situation, the producer can "tag" it and find it again in the future. The luck factor of getting a cut is increased because SongScope.com circumvents the problem of finding a song again through the piles of  CD's and cassettes normally associated with an industry professional's office.

The cost of listing on SongScope.com is $49 per year. Writers can list, edit, add, delete and categorize their material in any descriptive terms they choose. A hit counter shows the writer how many times each song has been listened to. The producers contact the writers or their agents directly if a song is placed on hold. There are also optional marketing and promotional tools available for the performing songwriter. Unpublished work is accepted and only confirmed industry professionals are allowed access into the song catalog.  For more information or sign up details, visit http://www.songscope.com.
